Hibiscus supports a healthy cardiovascular system by promoting healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels. In blood pressure studies, both diastolic and systolic blood pressure have been reliably reduced. For its cholesterol-reducing benefit, one study found the extract to be effective in lowering serum cholesterol, triacylglycerol, and the ratio of low-density lipoprotein/high-density protein (LDL/HDL).
