Description

Allspice (Pimenta dioica) essential oil has a sweet, yet spicy aroma reminiscent of cinnamon or clove, likely due to its high eugenol content. This highly aromatic oil is a popular holiday scent; can have a grounding and centering effect when added to blends, and is also a common addition to soaps, and more masculine smelling or woodsy essential oil blends. Allspice is extremely potent, so we recommend trying just 1 drop at first, or to blend it with other oils before diffusing. Allspice blends well with citrus oils like sweet orange, blood orange, or bergamot, and spicy aromas like cinnamon, clove, and ginger, among others. 

Eugenol, the main constituent present in Allspice, has been extensively studied for therapeutic benefit.
