Hazards: Skin sensitization if oxidized.
Cautions: Old oxidized oils should be avoided.
Because of its high α-pinene and δ-3-carene content we recommend that oxidation of cypress oil is avoided by storage in a dark, airtight container in a refrigerator. The addition of an antioxidant to preparations containing it is recommended. (Tisserand & Young, 2014, p. 265)
Our Recommendations:  If pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or have liver or kidney disfunction, consult your health practitioner before use. Avoid eyes, mucous membranes, and sensitive skin. Keep out of reach of children.
We recommend to always dilute essential oils with a carrier oil before topical or internal use (see internal use document).  If applying an essential oil to your skin always perform a small patch test to an insensitive part of the body (If it is not already diluted, dilute with a carrier oil) If redness, itchiness, or inflammation occurs, discontinue use or use a greater dilution with a carrier oil.
Store in a covered or dark, airtight container in the refrigerator or cool area for longest shelf life.
Antibacterial
The essential oil has good activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, possibly due to the presence of α-pinene and cedrol.
Anti-Inflammatory
Cypress has anti-inflammatory action. This may be due in part to its ability to scavenge nitric oxide, a toxic radical, which contributes to edema, nociception, and pain by stimulating the release of pro-inflammatory mediators.
Antioxidant
Cypress has antioxidant activity.
Cypress has antioxidant activity (Aazara et al. 2014), and a potential role in the prevention of degenerative conditions.
Antispasmodic
Although there is no direct evidence to support this, Cypress is well known for its ability to alleviate spasmodic coughs. This may be due to the presence of α-pinene, which is anti-inflammatory and analgesic (Guimarães et al. 2013) and the mucolytic actions of constituents such as δ-3-carene.

Juniper Berry Essential Oil

This is a great Cypress oil. I recently got into trying the wood oils like this and cedar. This is a really nice scent. I mean you have to know what you are buying. This is not my daughter’s Love Spell :) It is a nice relaxing, woodsy scent. I couldn’t see using it alone. But with most things I experiment. I love learning about the health benefits of a new oil. I am blown away by the world of essential oils. Davina’s oils have been very consistent. They are good quality yet reasonably priced.

I would definitely purchase this line again.
