Linalo is notable for its antinociceptive action.

Lavender is well regarded as an analgesic oil, and its main constituent linalol has been well researched in this capacity. Research has established that it has antinociceptive pain relieving actions, via inhalation as well as topical application, both on its own and in blends, as seen in studies

Antiallergenic
The essential oil has anti-allergic activity.
- Kim, H.M. & Cho, S.H. (1999) Lavender oil inhibits immediate-type allergic reaction in mice and rats. Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology 51, 221-226.
Antibacterial
Edwards-Jones et al. (2004) found that a combination of Lavender, Geranium, and Tea Tree had an increased inhibitory effect on the growth of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), but that Lavender and Tea Tree without the Geranium were less active against MRSA.

Antifungal (Candida and dermatophytes)
Lavender is active against Candida. It is also active against dermatophytes, especially when used in conjunction with Tea Tree.

Anti-inflammatory
Lavender and linalol both have anti-inflammatory actions, possibly by reducing nitric oxide synthesis or release (nitric oxide contributes to pain and edema), and the release of pro-inflammatory compounds in the tissues.

Antispasmodic
The antispasmodic actions of Lavender are likely due in part to the presence of linalyl acetate, which relaxes smooth muscle.

Anxiolytic
The essential oil and its main components linalol and linalyl acetate have since been the subject of many studies, which have established that both inhaled and topically applied, Lavender and these components have pronounced sedative and anxiety relieving properties.

CNS sedative
Early studies suggested that linalyl acetate, in conjunction with linalol, was important in the sedative effects of Lavender.

Skin Healing
Lavender has great ability to heal the skin (burns, ulcers, rashes, irritations, infections, wounds, and other types of damage). This is due to its anti-inflammatory, pain relieving, edema reducing, antiallergic, and broad spectrum antimicrobial activity properties. Its effectiveness was demonstrated by Altaei 2012, who found that, compared to the baseline and placebo, the topical application of Lavender to recurrent mouth ulcers produced a significant reduction in inflammation, ulcer size, and healing time, and that pain relief was experienced from the first application.

Nancy –
Of all the brands of essential oils I’ve tried, I like Davina the best. Consistently high quality at a good price. Highly recommend.
Becca O. –
Absolutely love it! Easy to take on trips and easy enough to use on little kids who have trouble with sleeping.

One of my favorite and most used essential Oils. It is great for the skin and great to add with peppermint to the fore head for a headache as well as blends with just about anything in my diffuser. It is an essential essential oil to have and I do not ever like to run out of it or leave home without it! It is great on irritated skin, has some healing properties as well as smells amazing and works on even delicate and/or young skin!

This product has been a lifesaver for sure!! For the past four months I have been suffering with Trigeminal Neuralgia the pain lasts all day and increases with talking, eating and drinking. The pain is terrible and debilitating, over the counter pain meds only give me a few hours of relief and then the pain comes back full force. For those of you reading this wondering what I am referring to when I say Trigeminal Neuralgia it is extreme nerve pain that effects the face. Pain meds only offer temporary relief and can cause organ damage with prolonged use. Out of desperation I decided to try using this oil on my face to help with the constant pain. I am very pleased to say that this oil alleviates the pain within minutes of an attack. I put 1-2 drops on my finger and rub the oil on my jawline, cheekbone, upper lip and behind my ear, this product has kept the pain away!! I feel like I am able to have a life again without worrying about when the pain will hit and how I can get relief. I am overjoyed and ecstatic about this accidental discovery.
Because I have been using this product on my face pretty regularly I was worried about breakouts, so far I have not experienced and skin issues. The smell is also wonderful! But most importantly it has helped me manage my chronic pain !!!

This stuff is great! I got burned a bit while cooking, so I put a drop on it and it stopped hurting. I was really surprised that it actually worked! Maybe I shouldn’t have been, but the whole idea that essential oils work is still something of a new idea to me. Anyway, so I got a bug bite, and it itched like mad, so I tried it on that. It helped that too. It wasn’t as profound of a difference as the burn, but it did take quite a bit of the itch out. Overall, I’m very happy with this oil. It smells great and it is really nice to have around.

I originally bought this to be used with some shea butter that I bought for my wife but we’ve actually been using this in a diffuser we just got. This oil is top notch and the smell is extremely pleasant. We like to drop some of and some frankincense in and let it go while we sleep. It creates a very calming and relaxing environment and we believe it helps us rest. The only con I can cite is that I think they ought to drop the price some on this. I recently bought a kit with several oils in it and the price per bottle was substantially less.

Love this company. I can’t say enough good things about them. This lavender is a great one. It’s a great price for a good amount of oil. The smell is so wonderful and pure. I love it! Way better than other name brand companies that I’ve used in the past.

This lavender is as beautiful as they come. You can tell that it is pure, smells very concentrated . I love to diffuse oils in my cool mist diffusers. I own seven of them that I have running all day long. My house is an essential oils house. I will be purchasing more of the lavender for my house. It smells the way its supposed to. It smells better that several I have bought from other essential oil companies. I like the look of the bottles as well. Look modern and easy to find the oils name on the label. I recommend it!

This is an absolutely beautiful Lavender Essential Oil, one of the nicer Lavenders I have smelled. Lavender has been one of my favorite “goto” oils since I very first developed an interest in essential oils 25 or so years ago. I love to combine it with Davina’s Wild Orange This morning, I awoke with a horrible earache (pretty sure I have an ear infection), so I put two drops of this along with two drops of Roman Chamomile in my left palm, then rubbed it into the tips of my fingers, massaging the blend all the way around my ears (NOT inside). It was a huge help with the earache, although I will still be seeing my doctor tomorrow. This blend definitely helped me make it through the day. You could use it just like that or, if you do not like to use the oils without a carrier, which is usually best, you can add in a bit of carrier. I’m absolutely thankful I had both of these essential oils today!! It was a huge help for me today and this would also be a lovely bedtime blend to diffuse.
I like that the actual botanical variety of the oil is used, not just the common name (as well as where it was grown), so I know exactly what I am using. It gives me peace of mind that Davina has all their Essential Oils third party tested. Also, I store my essential oils in a box, so I love that these come with the label on the top for easy identification and use.

I really like the Davina essential oils. I have already bought a few but this was my first time trying the lavender. It is very strong. I do really like it for its calming effects. My brother and I both suffer from anxiety so I will be giving him some of this to try too.
G. H. –
I love the smell, but with all essential oils I am finding, it doesn’t last terribly long. It does in a diffuser though. Great stuff!
Lauren –
I have several Davina Oils and I am “Wowed” everytime. I use this lavender in my diffuser with the frankensence, and what a heavenly combination. The lavender delivers a beautiful, clean scent. My favorite lavender oil of all time.
Laynee –
Besides some of the more expensive oils this brand is now one of my favorites. I have at least 7 of them already and use them daily. Also 3 more on the way. Can’t wait to try them. I’m so happy I found a more affordable brand that works just as well as the expensive ones.
Angie –
Seems to be of good quality! It does drip out a bit fast, but kinda like that because slow drops can be annoying too. Very satisfied with this lavender/ and I have been purchasing lavender for over Ten years from reputable companies.

Must have oil!! This is on of my favorites and mixes well with many other oils (firs, citrus, etc.) in a diffuser or homemade rollerball and or added to other oils/blends such as swat team, yawn, etc. I also use it as a moisturizer on my face at times and also put it on irritated skin. I also use it in conjunction with peppermint oil on my forehead when I have a headache. It’s also just good to put on or smell when calm is needed! So many uses for this amazing oil!!

I love this roller! I have purchased it several times. There’s nothing like the sweet, calming scent of lavender to help me fall asleep and get a good night of rest. The quality is great for the price, and I know I’ll continue ordering these.

I love it, works great in my diffuser at bed time. Helps me relax and sleep soundly

Lavender is one of the best essential oils on the market! And as always, Davina has the best price, in my opinion! I can’t wait until they start selling it in 30 mL containers. It is great for calming and I use it in my diffuser, added to other essential oils and fraction coconut oil for my homemade deodorant, use it in the diffuser all the time with either some peppermint, lemon and orange if I’m having allergy issues or with some orange, liquid sunshine and immunity to brighten and clean the air! I also use it on my face/skin when it’s dry or needs attention and on my head in combination with peppermint oil to help with headaches! I’m sure there are more but Sooo many uses and benefits and smells great!

Second purchase of this oil for me. It is fantastic, smells great, works great in a diffuser, in bath bombs, or on wool dryer balls. Have always had great customer service as well.

Friends and family have tried to get me into essential oils for a long time, but I honestly didn’t want to pay the price for the brands they use. I wanted the quality, but for a little less. Needless to say, I happened to see a good deal for a set of 10 Davina oils, and after my research, I decided to give them a try. I am SO happy that I did. These oils are true and pure! The quality is top notch! Don’t ask me what my favorite is, I have too many.

Of all the brands of essential oils I’ve tried, I like Davina the best. Consistently high quality at a good price. Highly recommend.

I keep this with me at all times and diffuse it, along with other EOs and EO blends, all the time! At this point, I won’t buy any less than 30 ml at a time! I use it with peppermint for headaches, to smell soft and sweet on its own on my skin and also on my face or irritated skin spots to help sooth dry or irritated skin! So many uses and smells amazing!

I use lavender daily for a variety of things. From cuts, scrapes, rashes, and burns to linen spray and laundry (a few drops on wool dryer balls to replace dryer sheets)
